Bringing a British Shorthair Kitten Home – Perth Owner’s Guide

Bringing home a British Shorthair kitten is an exciting time. To make the first days go smoothly it helps to prepare your home and understand what your new kitten will need.

Before your kitten arrives, set up a quiet space with a cosy bed, litter tray, food and water bowls, and some safe toys. This will give them a place to feel secure while they get used to their new surroundings.

For the first few days keep things calm and let your kitten explore at their own pace. Gradually introduce them to the rest of the house and any other pets. Supervise introductions and make sure your kitten always has somewhere to retreat if they feel overwhelmed.

Feeding your kitten a high-quality diet is important for their growth and development. Ask your breeder for the food your kitten has been eating and make any changes slowly to avoid tummy upsets.
